Within the scope of the Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral Programs, theses may be composed at the Institute for Management Information Systems.

Bachelor Thesis

Within the scope of the Bachelor Program, two Bachelor theses have to be composed: one thesis may be prepared in the course of an IS-Specialization or an Advanced IS-Subject, the second thesis has to be prepared in the course of the IT-Praktikum. Each Bachelor thesis should be completed within one semester.

Diploma/Master Thesis

The Master Program specifies the preparation of one Diploma/Master thesis. The thesis topics focus primarily on the research topics of the Institute, however, new topics may be accepted if accompanied by a written rationale and table of contents. The number of supervized Diploma/Master theses per semester is currently not limited. A leaflet for the preparation of Diploma/Master theses is available at the Front Office. It is recommended to attend GK1 (Einführung in B2C-E-Commerce) before writing a Diploma/Master theses at this Institute.

The Institute for Management Information Systems offers a mandatory Konversatorium class. Students are asked to arrange for class outlines and dates with their supervisor.

Doctoral Thesis

Doctoral theses are exclusively supervised by professors of the Institute for Management Information Systems. The chosen dissertation topic should correspond to the Institute's research areas. Suggestions for appropriate topics may be found among the current diploma/master thesis topics.
